Yamato VE-8F Series
is a pinnacle of industrial engineering, designed specifically for the challenging demands of sewing high-stretch materials on small-diameter tubular garments. Featuring Yamato's revolutionary Active Thread Control (ATC) system, this machine delivers a "non-stress" seam that maintains incredible elasticity without puckering or thread breakage—even on ultra-thin, modern technical fabrics.
Its ultra-small cylinder bed (circumference of only 180mm) allows for effortless handling of children’s wear, sleeve cuffs, and ankle openings that standard machines simply cannot accommodate. Paired with a quiet, high-torque Servo Motor, the VE-8F provides unparalleled precision for high-end activewear and intimate apparel.
- Active Thread Control (ATC): Unlike traditional tension-based systems, ATC "delivers" the exact amount of thread needed for each stitch. This produces a soft, flexible seam that can stretch over 200% without snapping.
- Ultra-Small Cylinder Bed: With a 180mm circumference, it is the ideal solution for sewing small tubular parts like cuffs, necklines, and children’s leg openings.
- High-Speed Performance: Reaches speeds of up to 4,500 SPM while maintaining "tunnelling-free" flat seams.
- Oil-Barrier Technology: Features Yamato’s signature "Non-Stain" technology at the needle bar and looper area, ensuring your high-end fabrics remain 100% oil-free.
- Versatile Stitching: Capable of 2 or 3-needle interlock stitching with top cover thread for professional-grade hemming and covering.
- Differential Feed Micro-Adjustment: Allows for precision tuning to eliminate fabric waving or stretching on tricky synthetic materials.
- Integrated Servo Motor: Provides silent operation, instant needle response, and significant energy savings compared to traditional motors.

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs
What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?
The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.
Where does the machine oil go?
A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.
What kind of oil does this machine require?
You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.
What size table can I get with this machine?
Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.
Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?
No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.
THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR
Because of the Servo motor speed control, most users find the machine more straightforward to use. Both beginning and seasoned sewers find this feature helpful when stitching projects that don't demand high-speed stitching.
They use up to 90% less power than clutch motors
They are 1/3 lighter than clutch motors
With a flick of the switch, you can reverse motor rotation
No parts to wear out or adjust
No matter how hard you press the foot pedal, the configured speed remains the same.
