Yamata GG20U63

is a versatile, high-speed industrial machine designed for both straight stitching and wide zigzag operations. A favorite among small sewing businesses and home-based entrepreneurs, this "Singer 20U Style" machine is ideal for light to medium-heavy fabrics.

Whether you are performing standard garment assembly or intricate free-hand embroidery, the GG20U63 offers a smooth, reliable experience. Its unique 12mm zigzag width capability (wider than many competitors in this class) makes it perfect for decorative stitching, bartacking, and appliqué.

  • Versatile 2-in-1 Action: Easily switch between straight stitching for general seams and zigzag stitching for finishing and embroidery.
  • Extra-Wide 12mm Zigzag: Features an adjustable width from 0 to 12mm, providing more creative flexibility for decorative patterns.
  • Three Needle Positions: Left, Center, and Right needle positions allow for easy zipper installation, edge stitching, and buttonhole creation.
  • Knee-Control System: The integrated knee lifter can be used to either raise the presser foot or manually control the width of the zigzag stitch during free-hand embroidery.
  • High-Speed Performance: Operates at up to 2,000 stitches per minute, significantly faster than domestic alternatives.
  • All-Metal Construction: Features a durable horizontal-axis rotary hook and hardened steel gears designed for long-term commercial use.

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs

What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?

The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.

Where does the machine oil go?

A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.

What kind of oil does this machine require?

You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.

What size table can I get with this machine?

Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.

Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?

No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

Because of the Servo motor speed control, most users find the machine more straightforward to use. Both beginning and seasoned sewers find this feature helpful when stitching projects that don't demand high-speed stitching.
