Yamata FY-1541S

is a high-performance, single-needle lockstitch machine engineered for medium-to-heavy-weight materials. It features a Unison Feed (Triple Feed) system—combining a walking foot, needle feed, and feed dog—to ensure that multiple layers of thick fabric are moved through the machine in perfect synchronization. This prevents "ply-shifting" and ensures consistent stitch lengths on materials like leather, canvas, and heavy vinyl.

Equipped with a Barrel-Type Safety Clutch, the FY-1541S is built for durability; the clutch automatically disengages the hook drive in the event of a thread jam, protecting the machine's internal timing from damage. Paired with a modern Electronic Servo Motor, this unit provides the high torque needed for thick materials while maintaining whisper-quiet operation and precise speed control.

  • Unison Feed (Triple Feed): The synchronized movement of the needle, feed dog, and presser foot provides a powerful pull, ideal for heavy leathers and slippery synthetics.
  • Integrated Safety Clutch: A critical "insurance" feature that disengages the hook during jams, preventing costly timing repairs. It can be reset easily with a dedicated button.
  • Adjustable Climbing Device: A top-mounted dial allows you to adjust the alternating vertical movement of the walking foot to "climb" over thick cross-seams or varying material heights without stalling.
  • Double-Tension Mechanism: Provides superior tension control, allowing the machine to support high-tension sewing with thick industrial threads (up to Bonded Nylon #138).
  • Rectangular Feed Motion: Unlike traditional elliptical feed, the rectangular motion ensures the feed dog stays in contact with the material longer for a more consistent, professional stitch.
  • Large Horizontal Rotary Hook: Features a high-capacity bobbin to accommodate thicker threads and reduce the frequency of bobbin changes.
  • Automatic Lubrication System: A centralized oiling system ensures vital components are continuously lubricated, extending the machine's lifespan.
  • Max Sewing Speed : 2,500 – 2,800 SPM (Stitches Per Minute)
  • Feeding Mechanism : Unison Feed (Walking Foot / Triple Feed)
  • Max Stitch Length : 9mm (Forward & Backward)
  • Needle System : 135 x 17 (DPx17) Size 18–24
  • Presser Foot Lift : 9mm (Hand) / 16mm (Knee)
  • Needle Bar Stroke : 36mm
  • Alternating Vertical Movement : 2.5mm – 6.5mm
  • Hook Type : Large Horizontal-Axis Rotary Hook
  • Motor Type : 550W – 750W Electronic DC Servo Motor (110V)

The FY-1541S is the professional standard for:

  • Upholstery: Automotive seating, boat covers, and furniture re-upholstery.
  • Leather Goods: Manufacturing heavy leather bags, belts, wallets, and holsters.
  • Outdoor Gear: Tents, sails, awnings, and heavy-duty canvas bags.
  • Industrial Textiles: Webbing, slings, and protective safety gear.

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs

What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?

The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.

Where does the machine oil go?

A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.

What kind of oil does this machine require?

You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.

What size table can I get with this machine?

Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.

Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?

No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

Because of the Servo motor speed control, most users find the machine more straightforward to use. Both beginning and seasoned sewers find this feature helpful when stitching projects that don't demand high-speed stitching.
