specializes in creating an invisible "blind" stitch that is hidden within the fabric, ensuring that seams are not visible from the outside of the garment.Whether you are hemming trousers, skirts, or sleeves, the CM500 provides the precision of a full-sized industrial hemmer. Its swing-down cylinder arm allows for easy hemming of tubular items, while the 2:1 skip-stitch feature ensures a soft, non-puckering finish on delicate and synthetic materials.
Alterations: Shortening trousers, slacks, and skirts.
Tailoring: Felling edge tapes, sleeves, and coat linings.
Knitwear: Hemming sweaters, jerseys, and elastic materials.
Dry Cleaning: Professional on-site repairs and finishing.
True Skip-Stitch Function (1:1 & 2:1): Features a lever-operated skip-stitch mechanism. The 2:1 setting allows the needle to skip every other stitch, reducing seam tension and preventing puckering on lightweight or synthetic fabrics.
Swing-Down Cylinder Arm: The slim cylinder bed is perfect for hemming narrow, tubular pieces such as pant cuffs, shirt sleeves, and neckbands.
Adjustable Stitch Penetration: A precision dial allows you to control exactly how deep the needle penetrates the fabric, ensuring the stitch remains invisible on a wide range of material thicknesses.
Swing-Away Work Table: Provides a large, flat surface for hemming curtains or flat fabric panels, then easily swings away to reveal the cylinder arm for cuffs.
Hands-Free Knee Lifter: Includes a knee-operated lever to raise and lower the presser foot, allowing you to keep both hands on your project for better control.
Industrial Cast-Iron Build: Unlike plastic domestic models, the CM500 is built with a heavy-duty metal frame to reduce vibration and ensure long-term durability.

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs
What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?
The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.
Where does the machine oil go?
A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.
What kind of oil does this machine require?
You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.
What size table can I get with this machine?
Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.
Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?
No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.
