Wolff's Industrial Twice as Sharp is designed to make your in-house shear sharpening fast, easy, and precise. The complete system comes equipped with a 100 grit sharpening wheel so you can sharpen your shear quickly, and a 350 grit honing wheel designed to enhance your shear so it will be twice as sharp as new! The Industrial Twice as Sharp scissors sharpening system also comes fitted with an arm and clamp assembly that can be set to match all possible angles on any industrial shear up to 14 inches in length. This will allow you to confidently sharpen any shear to the exact angle best suited to your application. 

MACHINE SPECIFICATIONS:

  • SHARPENING ARMS: Double-sealed Rulon® bearings, no maintenance required
  • SHARPENING CLAMP: Set angles from 0 - 57 degrees, clamp opens to ¾ of an inch
  • SHARPENING WHEEL: 5" x ½" x ½" 100 grit fine grain friable aluminum oxide
  • HONING WHEEL:  Nylon impregnated (350 grit) with fine silicon carbide

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs

What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?

The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.

Where does the machine oil go?

A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.

What kind of oil does this machine require?

You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.

What size table can I get with this machine?

Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.

Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?

No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.
