  • Description

Our heavy duty grommet setting machine with foot press just got twice as useful and twice as fast with TWO STATIONS for setting grommets, snaps, rivets and more. This tool is for those who want something a little more industrial than a hand press, but don't quite need an electric grommet press machine.

Our industrial grade press machine is made of solid cast iron, so you know it's truly durable. The position of the die can be easily adjusted for use with fabrics of various thicknesses. Any size die available in our store can be used in this machine, including sizes #000, 00, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, & 12 and those for snap buttons and rivets.  And because the dies are interchangeable, this machine has countless applications, saving you from the cost of buying several different press machines.

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs

What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?

The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.

Where does the machine oil go?

A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.

What kind of oil does this machine require?

You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.

What size table can I get with this machine?

Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.

Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?

No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.
