SINGER® Legacy™ C440Q

combines a sleek, modern design with the power and precision needed for high-end quilting and garment construction. Featuring an expansive 200mm (7.87") work area, this machine provides the space required for managing large quilts and bulky home decor projects.

Equipped with 200 built-in stitches and a large LCD Touch Screen, the C440Q allows you to select, customize, and preview your stitches with a single tap. The "Q" in its name stands for Quilting, highlighted by the inclusion of a specialized Bonus Quilting Kit (Walking Foot and Darning Foot) and a programmable needle up/down function for ultimate control during patchwork and applique.

  • Advanced Quilting: Optimized for piecing, stippling, and echo quilting using the included Even Feed (Walking) Foot

  • LCD Touch Screen: Easily adjust stitch length, width, and density. Preview your edits and mirror-image patterns directly on the screen.
  • Automatic Thread Cutter: Conveniently cuts both the top and bobbin threads with the press of a button, saving time and thread.
  • Programmable Needle Up/Down: Stops the needle in the down position for easy pivoting and applique, or in the up position for quick fabric removal.
  • 800 SPM High-Speed Stitching: Finish large projects faster without sacrificing stitch quality or precision.
  • Built-in Lettering & Memory: Features alphanumeric fonts to personalize projects; combine letters and decorative stitches and save them to the built-in memory.

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs

What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?

The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.

Where does the machine oil go?

A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.

What kind of oil does this machine require?

You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.

What size table can I get with this machine?

Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.

Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?

No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.
