Singer HD0400S Serger

is engineered for durability and speed, making it the perfect companion for a heavy-duty sewing setup. It creates 2, 3, or 4-thread overlock stitches that allow you to trim, sew, and finish seams in one easy step. Its Heavy Duty Metal Frame provides a stable foundation for high-speed sewing, preventing skipping and vibration. With specialized features like a 60% larger cutting knife and a built-in rolled hem mode, this serger delivers a professional ready-to-wear finish on all fabric types, from stretchy activewear to multi-layered home decor projects.

  • Apparel Construction: Professional finishing on T-shirts, leggings, and swimwear.
  • Home Decor: Finishing edges on heavy curtains, pillows, and tablecloths.
  • Repairs: Reinforcing seams on denim jeans and workwear.
  • Decorative Edging: Creating beautiful rolled hems on scarves and napkins.
  • 60% Stronger Motor: Provides more piercing power for thick fabrics and heavy seams compared to standard domestic sergers.
  • 2, 3, & 4 Thread Capability: Versatile stitching options for finishing edges, creating decorative flatlocks, or sewing high-tension seams.
  • Professional Differential Feed: Fully adjustable to prevent fabric stretching (waving) on knits or puckering on thin, delicate fabrics.
  • High-Speed Performance: Capable of sewing up to 1,300 stitches per minute, allowing you to complete projects in a fraction of the time.
  • Enhanced Cutting Blade: Features a 60% larger knife than previous models to cut through thick fabrics cleanly and consistently.
  • Easy Threading System: Color-coded threading paths and a simplified looper system make setup fast and stress-free.

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs

What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?

The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.

Where does the machine oil go?

A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.

What kind of oil does this machine require?

You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.

What size table can I get with this machine?

Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.

Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?

No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.
