New-Tech GC-V5

is a heavy-duty industrial lockstitch machine designed for high-volume production where efficiency is the top priority. Unlike standard lockstitch machines that use small bobbins, the GC-V5 is equipped with a Large "M" Class Bobbin system, offering double the thread capacity. This means fewer bobbin changes and more continuous sewing time. Powered by a built-in Direct-Drive Servo Motor, this machine provides instant needle response, silent operation, and superior energy efficiency, making it the ideal workhorse for medium to heavyweight materials. 

  • Large "M" Class Bobbin System: Features a high-capacity hook and bobbin that holds roughly 2.5 times more thread than a standard "L" bobbin. This is essential when using thicker threads for denim or upholstery. 
  • Integrated Direct-Drive Motor: The motor is mounted directly onto the main shaft, eliminating belts and pulleys. This results in 70% energy savings, reduced vibration, and a quieter workspace. 
  • Automatic Needle Positioning: Program the needle to always stop in the "down" position for easy corner pivoting, or the "up" position for quick garment removal. 
  • Speed Control at Your Fingertips: The digital control panel allows you to adjust the sewing speed from a slow crawl for detail work up to a high-speed 5,000 SPM for long straight seams. 
  • Optimized for Heavy Fabrics: Built with reinforced internal components to handle denim, canvas, and multi-layered synthetics without skipping stitches.

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs

What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?

The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.

Where does the machine oil go?

A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.

What kind of oil does this machine require?

You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.

What size table can I get with this machine?

Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.

Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?

No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.
