New-Tech GC-EX5204D-XB

is a professional-grade solution for achieving the iconic "Merrow" edge—a dense, high-quality overlock stitch used for patches, emblems, and decorative garment finishes. Unlike traditional belt-driven machines, this model features a Direct Drive Servo Motor integrated into the head, offering silent operation, reduced vibration, and 70% better energy efficiency. Its specialized "turn" capability allows operators to navigate tight curves and circular shapes with unmatched precision.

  • Direct Drive Technology: The motor is connected directly to the drive shaft, eliminating V-belts and gears to provide a more stable, quiet, and maintenance-free sewing experience.
  • Specialized Merrow Stitch: Produces a classic 3-thread overedge stitch (Stitch Type 504) that is dense enough to prevent fraying on the most delicate emblems and patches.
  • High-Speed Productivity: Capable of reaching up to 8,000 stitches per minute, making it one of the fastest edge-finishing machines in the industrial market.
  • Curved Edge Precision: Specifically engineered for "turning," allowing for easy maneuvering around circular patches, rounded corners, and intricate badge shapes.
  • Integrated LED Lighting: Includes a built-in lamp to illuminate the needle area, reducing eye strain and improving accuracy during high-speed production.
  • Easy Adjustments: Features a push-button stitch length regulator and a micro-adjustment lever for the differential feed ratio, allowing for perfect results on varied fabric weights.
  • Max Sewing Speed : 8,000 SPM (Stitches Per Minute)
  • Number of Threads : 3-Thread Overlock
  • Overedge Width : 1.5mm (Specialized Narrow Edge)
  • Stitch Adjustment : Push-button (Simple & Fast)
  • Differential Feed : Lever with Micro-adjustment
  • Lubrication System :Fully Automatic (Centrally Lubricated)
  • Motor Type : Built-in 110V Direct Drive Servo Motor
  • Fabric Range :Light to Medium Weight

This machine is the industry standard for creating professional-grade edges on:

  • Emblems & Patches: School badges, military insignias, and custom motorcycle patches.
  • Decorative Hems: High-end napkins, handkerchiefs, and ruffles on formal wear.
  • Sportswear: Side seams and finishing for performance apparel and activewear.
  • Labels: Edge finishing for brand labels and care tags on high-end garments.

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs

What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?

The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.

Where does the machine oil go?

A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.

What kind of oil does this machine require?

You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.

What size table can I get with this machine?

Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.

Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?

No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

Because of the Servo motor speed control, most users find the machine more straightforward to use. Both beginning and seasoned sewers find this feature helpful when stitching projects that don't demand high-speed stitching.
