New-Tech GC-EX-5214-AT
is a professional-grade 4-thread overlock machine designed for high-speed seaming, edge trimming, and overedging. Featuring a Built-in Direct Drive Servo Motor, this machine offers a more responsive sewing experience with reduced noise and vibration compared to belt-driven models. The 4-thread setup is the industry standard for knitwear, providing a strong, flexible "mock-safety" stitch that allows garments to stretch without breaking.
- Direct Drive Technology: The motor is integrated directly into the machine head, providing high torque, faster acceleration, and 70% energy savings.
- Automatic Needle Positioning: Ensures the needle stops in the desired "Up" or "Down" position every time, significantly speeding up the workflow.
- 4-Thread Versatility: Provides a secure seam for stretch fabrics while maintaining the ability to be used as a 3-thread overedge machine for light finishing.
- Differential Feed Adjustment: Features an easy-to-use micro-dial to prevent fabric puckering on thin materials or waving on high-stretch knits.
- Fully Automatic Lubrication: A closed-circuit oiling system with a high-capacity filter ensures the machine stays lubricated even at speeds of 6,000+ SPM.
- Adjustable Speed Control: Easily limit the maximum sewing speed via the digital control panel, making it suitable for both master tailors and trainees.
- Integrated LED Lighting: Built-in LED workspace illumination reduces eye strain and improves accuracy during intricate seaming.

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs
What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?
The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.
Where does the machine oil go?
A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.
What kind of oil does this machine require?
You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.
What size table can I get with this machine?
Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.
Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?
No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.
THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR
Because of the Servo motor speed control, most users find the machine more straightforward to use. Both beginning and seasoned sewers find this feature helpful when stitching projects that don't demand high-speed stitching.
They use up to 90% less power than clutch motors
They are 1/3 lighter than clutch motors
With a flick of the switch, you can reverse motor rotation
No parts to wear out or adjust
No matter how hard you press the foot pedal, the configured speed remains the same.
