New-Tech GC-1790

represents the next generation of buttonholing technology. Equipped with a built-in direct-drive servo motor, this machine offers near-silent operation and incredible stopping precision. The computerized control panel allows operators to choose from multiple pre-set buttonhole patterns and adjust stitch density, width, and length with a few taps. It is the ideal solution for high-volume apparel manufacturers who work with everything from delicate dress shirts to heavy workwear.

  • Versatile Patterning: Easily switch between square, radial, and round-end buttonholes to suit the style of the garment.
  • Basting Stitch Capability: Includes a basting stitch function to ensure stable buttonholes on stretchy or elastic fabrics.
  • Automatic Thread Trimmer: Precision trimming of upper and lower threads at the end of each cycle for a clean, retail-ready appearance.
  • Ergonomic Workspace: The table and stand are designed to minimize operator fatigue during high-volume shifts.
  • Full Computerized Control: Store up to 99 patterns. Adjust the buttonhole length, width, and stitch pitch digitally via the user-friendly LCD touch panel.
  • Direct-Drive System: The motor is integrated directly into the machine head, reducing power consumption by 35% and eliminating the noise and vibration of a drive belt.
  • Electronic Thread Tension: Features an active tension system that allows you to set different tensions for the parallel sections and the bartack sections of the buttonhole for a perfect finish.
  • Multi-Cut Function: The machine can perform "multiple knife drops" to create long buttonholes without changing the knife, saving significant setup time.
  • High-Speed Productivity: Capable of speeds up to 4,200 stitches per minute, making it one of the fastest finishing machines in its class.
  • Semi-Dry Head: The needle bar and take-up areas are lubricated with a solid-grease system, preventing oil splashes on finished garments.

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs

What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?

The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.

Where does the machine oil go?

A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.

What kind of oil does this machine require?

You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.

What size table can I get with this machine?

Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.

Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?

No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

Because of the Servo motor speed control, most users find the machine more straightforward to use. Both beginning and seasoned sewers find this feature helpful when stitching projects that don't demand high-speed stitching.
