is a 3-needle, longitudinal feed double chainstitch machine designed specifically for medium-to-extra-heavy materials. This model features the"TF" (Tractor Foot)system, which allows the machine to climb over thick, bulky cross-seams without skipping stitches or damaging the fabric. Combined with a powerfulRear Puller (P), it ensures perfectly synchronized feeding of multi-layered denim, making it the premier choice for manufacturing high-quality jeans, overalls, and heavy-duty uniforms.
Denim Manufacturing: High-quality jeans, denim jackets, and skirts.
Workwear: Overalls, heavy-duty cargo pants, and utility uniforms.
Lap Seaming: Creating structural felled seams on long trouser sections.
Heavy Canvas: Manufacturing tents, bags, and industrial covers.
Tractor Foot (TF) Technology: Specifically designed to navigate "bumps" and thick overlapping seams (like the crotch or side seams of jeans) with ease.
Integrated Rear Power Puller (P): Provides additional feeding force from behind the needles to ensure smooth, flat seams on heavy fabrics and prevent material slippage.
3-Needle Double Chainstitch: Produces three rows of ultra-strong, flexible ISO 401 chainstitching that is resistant to cracking under heavy stress.
Longitudinal Feed Mechanism: The feed moves in the same direction as the sewing, providing superior stability for long, straight runs on waistbands and lap seams.
High-Speed Productivity: Engineered to run at speeds up to 4,500 SPM, significantly increasing output compared to standard lockstitch machines.
Looper-Fed System: Eliminates the need for bobbins, allowing for continuous production from large industrial thread cones
90 Days labor on defects in materials and workmanship.
** Head Only option does not include the table, legs, Servo Motor, and LED Lamp. No assembly or residential charges necessary.

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs
What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?
The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.
Where does the machine oil go?
A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.
What kind of oil does this machine require?
You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.
What size table can I get with this machine?
Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.
Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?
No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.
