JUKI MS-1261

is the industry standard for "felling" operations—creating the ultra-strong, clean-finished lap seams found on the inseams and outseams of premium denim jeans. Its feed-off-the-arm (cantilever) design allows operators to sew tubular parts like trouser legs and sleeves with unmatched ease.

This specific configuration includes the V045 Top Roller Cloth Puller, which provides a mechanical assist to ensure smooth, consistent feeding of multi-layered, extra-heavy fabrics (up to 14.5 oz denim). The double chainstitch mechanism is engineered for low-tension sewing, resulting in durable yet soft seams that resist puckering and stitch skipping.

  • Feed-Off-The-Arm Design: The slim, horizontal arm eliminates the need to turn garments inside out, making it ideal for joining sleeves and pant legs.
  • V045 Mechanical Cloth Puller: Features a top roller that works in sync with the feed dog to prevent uneven material feed and ensures twist-free seams on heavy denim.
  • Stitch-Skip Prevention: Redesigned loopers and a backward-traveling needle guard ensure the thread is caught every time, even at high speeds or over bulky cross-seams.
  • Low-Tension Seaming: Optimized thread paths allow for "balloon stitches" that look professional and feel soft against the skin, despite the heavy-weight thread used.
  • Durability for Heavy Hides: The feed mechanism is specifically placed to prevent needle bending when penetrating extra-thick materials.
  • Integrated Servo Motor: Provides the massive torque required for heavy denim while allowing the operator to limit the maximum speed for precision control.

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs

What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?

The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.

Where does the machine oil go?

A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.

What kind of oil does this machine require?

You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.

What size table can I get with this machine?

Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.

Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?

No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

Because of the Servo motor speed control, most users find the machine more straightforward to use. Both beginning and seasoned sewers find this feature helpful when stitching projects that don't demand high-speed stitching.
