Juki MS-1190

is a high-performance, 2-needle feed-off-the-arm machine designed specifically for sewing tubular materials. By utilizing a double chainstitch mechanism, it produces seams with exceptional elasticity and high tensile strength, ensuring they won't snap under the stress of daily wear. Its unique slim-arm design allows operators to feed sleeves, trouser legs, and side seams with ease, making it the definitive tool for high-quality dress shirt and light-to-medium workwear production.

  • Low-Tension Sewing: Engineered with a specialized thread path and needle-guard system to prevent puckering and ensure beautiful, consistent stitches even on lightweight materials.
  • Feed-Off-The-Arm Geometry: The narrow, cantilevered arm allows for effortless handling of closed-circle (tubular) items that are impossible to sew on standard flatbed machines.
  • High-Speed Productivity: Operates at up to 4,000 SPM, allowing for rapid assembly in high-volume garment manufacturing environments.
  • Double Chainstitch (ISO 401): Creates a flexible and durable stitch that moves with the fabric—essential for shirts and sportswear where seam comfort and stretch are critical.
  • Adjustable Needle Gauge: Can be configured for various needle spacings (standard 1/4" or 1/8") to match specific design or structural requirements.
  • Quiet-Run Servo Motor: The included high-torque electronic motor provides precise speed control, instant response, and silent operation when not in use.
  • Simplified Maintenance: Features a centralized oiling system and easy-access looper covers for quick cleaning and routine servicing.
  • Stitch Type: 2-Needle Double Chainstitch
  • Max. Sewing Speed: 4,000 Stitches per Minute (SPM)
  • Standard Needle Gauge: 1/4" (Other sizes available)
  • Stitch Length: 1.2mm – 3.2mm (Adjustable)
  • Needle System: TVx7 (#9 to #14)
  • Presser Foot Lift: 10mm
  • Feed Type: Drop feed
  • Motor Type: 550W High-Torque Servo Motor (110V)
  • Lubrication: Automatic (Pump system)

The MS-1190 is the premier choice for professional "felled" or lap-seaming operations:

  • Menswear: Side seams and sleeve joining on high-end dress shirts and casual button-downs.
  • Workwear: Reinforced seams for lightweight uniforms, scrubs, and lab coats.
  • Knitwear & Sportswear: Side seaming for tracksuits and athletic jerseys.
  • Bedding: Joining long tubular panels for pillowcases and duvet covers.

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs

What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?

The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.

Where does the machine oil go?

A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.

What kind of oil does this machine require?

You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.

What size table can I get with this machine?

Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.

Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?

No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

Because of the Servo motor speed control, most users find the machine more straightforward to use. Both beginning and seasoned sewers find this feature helpful when stitching projects that don't demand high-speed stitching.
