JUKI MO-6916J-FF6-700
is the industry standard for sewing heavy-duty garments such as jeans, carpets, and mats. Unlike standard sergers, this model utilizes a Variable Top-Feed mechanism where the top and bottom feeds move independently. This prevents uneven material feeding, puckering, and fabric "creeping," even when crossing bulky seams. Combined with an energy-efficient servo motor, it offers incredible piercing power and precision for the most demanding production lines.
- Variable Top-Feed Mechanism: Independently controlled top and bottom feeds provide a stronger "cloth-biting" force, ensuring thick and multi-layered materials feed smoothly without slipping.
- 5-Thread Safety Stitch (Stitch Type 516): Combines a 3-thread overedge with a 2-thread double chainstitch for ultra-strong, flexible seams that meet rigorous industrial standards.
- Extra High-Lift Upper Looper: Specifically engineered for extra-heavy fabrics, allowing for a higher presser foot lift and smoother thread passage through thick materials.
- Standard Micro-Lifter: Reduces operator fatigue and prevents fabric damage on delicate sections by providing an optimal balance of presser foot pressure.
- Needle Cooler & Heat Remover: Prevents thread breakage and material melting during high-speed sewing by keeping the needle and thread at a controlled temperature.
- Shield-Structured Needle Bar: Features upper and lower bushings for increased durability and reduced oil leakage, protecting your finished products from stains.

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs
What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?
The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.
Where does the machine oil go?
A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.
What kind of oil does this machine require?
You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.
What size table can I get with this machine?
Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.
Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?
No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.
