As part of Juki’s renowned MO-6800S series, this 3-thread model is engineered for durability and ease of use. It produces a clean, flexible overedge stitch that prevents fraying while maintaining seam elasticity. Equipped with a modern electronic Servo Motor, it offers the perfect combination of blazing production speeds (up to 7,000 SPM) and quiet, energy-efficient control.

  • 3-Thread Overedge Stitch: Ideal for overedging and neatening the edges of light-to-medium weight fabrics.
  • Ultra-High Speed: Capable of reaching up to 7,000 SPM, ensuring maximum throughput for high-volume production environments.

  • Advanced Lubrication System: A fully automatic, force-feed oiling system with a high-capacity filter ensures longevity and minimizes maintenance during continuous use.
  • Cool-Running Needle Bar: Designed to reduce heat buildup during high-speed operation, preventing thread breakage and material scorching.
  • Quiet-Run Servo Motor: The included 110V servo motor provides silent operation and allows the user to set a maximum speed limit via a digital display.
  • Ergonomic Workspace: Mounted on a full-sized industrial table with a waste chute to keep the workspace clean of fabric trimmings.
  • Stitch Type: 3-Thread Overlock (504)

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs

What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?

The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.

Where does the machine oil go?

A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.

What kind of oil does this machine require?

You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.

What size table can I get with this machine?

Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.

Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?

No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

Because of the Servo motor speed control, most users find the machine more straightforward to use. Both beginning and seasoned sewers find this feature helpful when stitching projects that don't demand high-speed stitching.
