ABOUT THIS MACHINE :

Expand your creative scope with the extensive range of functions and professional-looking stitches of the MCS-1500. The 3- and 4-thread cover stitch is perfect for various applications, such as hems, sleeve cuffs, and necklines. Gather and create simple hems with chain stitch. The MCS-1500 is the ideal partner that gives your textiles and garments a professional finish.

FEATURES :

  • Cover Stitch: Perfect for various applications, such as simple hems, sleeve cuffs, and necklines. Since the stitching stretches, it is ideal for stretch fabrics.
  • Chain Stitch: Since the lower thread forms a chain on the wrong side of the fabric, the stitch is strong when stretched, making it ideal for stitching the waist and side seams of pants. It also does well as decorative stitching for necklines.
  • Presser Foot Lifter: The presser foot is higher at its tip in order to allow the fabric to be inserted at the start of sewing easily. In addition, raising the presser foot lifter to the first position raises the presser foot 8 mm. Further raising the presser foot lifter raises the presser foot to 10 mm. This allows you to easily insert even thick layers of fabric, for example, when attaching ribbing, under the presser foot.
  • Adjustable differential feed: Adjust the differential feed to sew beautiful finishes, even with stretch fabrics such as knits and georgette.
  • Simple looper threading: The looper can easily be threaded since it can be lowered at the press of a button.
  • Extension plate with seam guidelines: The seam guidelines on the extension plate are useful for sewing.
  • Adjustable presser foot pressure: The presser foot pressure can be adjusted according to the type of fabric being sewn.
  • Presser foot with guide: A presser foot equipped with a guide that presses down on both the left and right sides is provided as a standard accessory.
  • Exterior thread cutter: The exterior thread cutter is useful when removing the fabric after raising the presser foot at the end of sewing.

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs

What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?

The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.

Where does the machine oil go?

A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.

What kind of oil does this machine require?

You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.

What size table can I get with this machine?

Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.

Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?

No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.
