JUKI MCS-1500N

is a specialized powerhouse designed for one mission: providing your garments with a professional, factory-quality finish. Unlike a standard serger or sewing machine, the MCS-1500N focuses exclusively on coverstitches and chainstitches. • Hemming: T-shirts, polo shirts, and children’s wear.
  • Activewear: Leggings, swimwear, and yoga gear.
  • Necklines: Attaching ribbing, bias tape, and lace.
  • Construction: Strong chainstitched side seams for woven pants.
  • 4-Thread, 3-Needle Coverstitch: Achieve the classic "store-bought" look on hems, cuffs, and necklines. The stitch is highly elastic, making it perfect for modern stretch fabrics.
  • Versatile Chainstitch: Ideal for high-stress seams like waistbands and side seams on trousers. The lower thread forms a strong chain on the underside that moves with the fabric.
  • Simple Looper Threading: Avoid the frustration of complex threading. The lower looper disengages and drops at the press of a button for easy, "slide-and-snap" threading.
  • Adjustable Differential Feed: Eliminate waving in knits and puckering in lightweight georgettes by fine-tuning the feed ratio (0.7 to 2.0).
  • Two-Step Presser Foot Lifter: The foot tip is angled for easy fabric insertion. Raise the lifter to 8mm or a "max-height" of 10mm to accommodate thick ribbing and multiple layers.
  • Compensating Presser Foot: Comes standard with a guided presser foot that applies even pressure to both the left and right sides, ensuring perfectly straight hems every time.

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs

What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?

The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.

Where does the machine oil go?

A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.

What kind of oil does this machine require?

You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.

What size table can I get with this machine?

Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.

Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?

No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.
