The JUKI LU-2810

is an industrial-grade unison-feed machine engineered for medium-to-extra-heavy-weight materials. It combines a walking foot, needle feed, and drop feed to ensure perfect material synchronization, preventing the shifting of layers even when sewing slippery or bulky fabrics. With its expanded 14-inch arm space and 20mm foot lift, this machine is the premier choice for automotive trimming, high-end upholstery, and leather goods production.

  • Expanded Work Area: Features a high and semi-long arm (347mm x 127mm), providing ample space for maneuvering large car seats, sofas, and heavy canvas rolls.
  • Unison-Feed (Triple Feed) System: Synchronizes the movement of the needle, feed dog, and walking foot for consistent, skip-free stitching on multi-layered assemblies.
  • Vertical-Axis Large Hook: Equipped with a 2.0-fold capacity hook that holds twice the thread of standard bobbins, significantly reducing downtime for bobbin changes.
  • 20mm Presser Foot Lift: Achieved via the knee lifter, this extra-high clearance allows for effortless sewing of leather joined with thick sponges or foam.
  • Dual-Tension Mechanism: Provides independent control over thread tension, allowing for stable, high-quality seams even when using heavy industrial threads.
  • Rectangular Feed Motion: The feed mechanism moves in a rectangular path rather than a traditional elliptical one, ensuring powerful and consistent material feeding at all stitch lengths.

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs

What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?

The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.

Where does the machine oil go?

A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.

What kind of oil does this machine require?

You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.

What size table can I get with this machine?

Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.

Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?

No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

Because of the Servo motor speed control, most users find the machine more straightforward to use. Both beginning and seasoned sewers find this feature helpful when stitching projects that don't demand high-speed stitching.
