  • Intuitive LCD Screen: Displays your selected stitch number and recommended presser foot for every project.
  • Adjustable Presser Foot Pressure: Dial-in the exact pressure needed—increase it for thick denim or decrease it for delicate knits to prevent fabric stretching.
  • Bright LED Work Light: Illuminates the needle area with cool, crisp light that doesn't get hot during long sewing sessions.
  • Compact & Lightweight: Designed for portability without sacrificing the "heavy-duty" feel JUKI is known for.
  • Hard Case Included: Provides protection and easy transport for sewing on the go.

  • 80 Stitch Patterns: A wide variety of utility, decorative, and heirloom stitches accessible at the touch of a button.
  • Automatic Needle Threader: Saves time and eye strain by pushing the thread through the needle eye automatically.
  • Start/Stop Button & Speed Control: Sew without the foot controller using the Start/Stop button. The sliding speed lever gives you total control, from slow precision to high-speed straight stitching.
  • Automatic One-Step Buttonhole: Simply place your button in the specialized foot, and the machine sews a perfectly sized buttonhole in one step.
  • Needle Up/Down Positioning: Program the needle to stop in the "down" position for easy fabric pivoting or the "up" position for easy fabric removal.
  • Drop Feed for Quilting: Lower the feed dogs with a flick of a switch for free-motion quilting, stippling, or thread painting.

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs

What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?

The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.

Where does the machine oil go?

A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.

What kind of oil does this machine require?

You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.

What size table can I get with this machine?

Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.

Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?

No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.
