JUKI DSC Series

is a heavy-duty industrial workhorse specifically engineered for the production of tubular materials. Whether you are sewing small-diameter sections of footwear or the complex gussets of a luxury handbag, the small-diameter cylinder bed (as small as 46mm) provides unparalleled access to tight curves and small openings.

Equipped with a Unison-Feed mechanism, the needle, feed dog, and presser foot move in perfect synchronization. This ensures that even the heaviest leathers or multi-layered fabrics are fed smoothly and firmly, preventing material slippage and ensuring consistent stitch lengths at any speed.

  • True Unison-Feed: The synchronized feeding of the needle, feed dog, and presser foot prevents layers from shifting, even when sewing slippery or heavy-weight materials.
  • Superior Stitch Quality: Designed to provide tight, beautiful seams even under low thread tension, making it ideal for high-end leather goods.
  • Large Hook Options: The DSC-246 model features a horizontal-axis double-capacity hook, reducing bobbin change frequency by nearly 50% for maximum production uptime.
  • High Knee Lift: With up to 15mm of clearance via the knee lifter, positioning bulky assemblies or pivoting at sharp corners is effortless.

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs

What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?

The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.

Where does the machine oil go?

A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.

What kind of oil does this machine require?

You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.

What size table can I get with this machine?

Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.

Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?

No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

Because of the Servo motor speed control, most users find the machine more straightforward to use. Both beginning and seasoned sewers find this feature helpful when stitching projects that don't demand high-speed stitching.
