JUKI DLN-9010A-SH

is a high-performance, single-needle lockstitch machine engineered for precision and speed. As part of Juki's premier DDL-9000 series DNA, this "SH" (Heavy-Duty) subclass is specifically designed for medium-to-heavy weight materials.

The standout feature is its Needle Feed mechanism, where the needle moves in tandem with the feed dog. This prevents "ply-shift" (uneven feeding of fabric layers), making it indispensable for sewing long seams on slippery fabrics or matching patterns and plaids.

  • Needle Feed Technology: Synchronized needle and feed dog movement eliminates material slippage and ensures perfectly uniform seams on difficult-to-feed fabrics.
  • Direct-Drive System: The motor is integrated into the machine head, providing high torque for heavy materials, reduced vibration, and 90% energy savings over clutch motors.
  • Automatic Thread Trimmer: Features a high-speed, reliable automatic thread trimming system to increase production efficiency.
  • Dry Oil Pan System: Employs a "Semi-Dry" head design where the oil is shielded in a closed tank, preventing oil stains on your high-value fabrics.
  • Automatic Functions: Equipped with auto-backtack, auto-foot lift (optional/subclass dependent), and a digital control panel for easy parameter adjustments.
  • Heavy-Duty "SH" Build: Reinforced components allow for high-speed operation (up to 4,000 SPM) even when working with thicker thread and heavier textiles.
  • Max Speed: 4,000 SPM (Stitches Per Minute)
  • Max Stitch Length: 4.5mm
  • Needle Bar Stroke: 35mm
  • Presser Foot Lift: 5.5mm (Hand) / 15mm (Knee/Auto)
  • Needle System: DB x 1 (#21 standard; range #15 to #23)
  • Lubrication: Automatic (Dry Oil Pan System)
  • Motor: Integrated AC Servo Direct-Drive (110V/220V)
  • Control Panel: Integrated CP-180 (standard)
  • Outerwear: Construction of jackets, coats, and uniforms using heavy synthetic or natural fibers.
  • Patterned Fabrics: Perfect for sewing plaids, stripes, or silks where layers must remain perfectly aligned.
  • Slender/Slippery Fabrics: Ideal for technical fabrics and sportswear that tend to shift under a standard drop-feed machine.
  • Home Decor: Sewing long curtain panels and upholstery where seam puckering must be avoided.

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs

What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?

The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.

Where does the machine oil go?

A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.

What kind of oil does this machine require?

You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.

What size table can I get with this machine?

Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.

Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?

No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

Because of the Servo motor speed control, most users find the machine more straightforward to use. Both beginning and seasoned sewers find this feature helpful when stitching projects that don't demand high-speed stitching.
