Hemmer Foot (for Pfaff only) Snap-on, 98-694818-00

SKU:SKU1197

3mm Snap-on Hemmer Foot 98-694818-00 - Pfaff Hemming prevents the edges from fraying and results in a clean, durable edge. With the Rolled Hem Foot, you can hem light to medium weight fabrics for clothing and home decorating items without having to pre-iron the fabric edges. 1. Select a straight stitch, snap on the Rolled Hem Foot. If needed, press only the beginning of the hem to 3 mm wide. Place it flat in the groove under the foot and sew a few stitches. Lower the needle into the fabric to hold it in place. Then raise the presser foot and pull the cut edge of the fabric into the scroll of the hemmer. Lower the foot and continue sewing while holding the cut edge up in front of the foot. 2. Do not allow fabric to run under the right half of the presser foot. This foot can be used on Pfaff machines with the IDT system, but not intended for the IDT system to be used. TIP: Hem crisp fabrics with a straight stitch. Hem soft fabrics with a zigzag that just encases the mm size of the hem. (Sharply curved areas are not suitable for this type hemmer.)

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs

What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?

The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.

Where does the machine oil go?

A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.

What kind of oil does this machine require?

You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.

What size table can I get with this machine?

Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.

Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?

No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.
