Consew SKZ-6-3

is an extra-heavy-duty industrial zig-zag machine specifically designed for "3-step, 2-stitch" (Federal Stitch Type 308) operations. This specialized stitch pattern provides superior elasticity and seam strength, preventing thread cracking on stretching materials. Built to handle medium to extra-heavyweight fabrics, this machine is the industry standard for high-tension applications like rope work, sailmaking, and heavy webbing.

  • 3-Step Zig-Zag (Type 308): Produces a secure, multi-point stitch that is ideal for elastic materials and heavy-duty reinforcement.
  • Extra-Wide Stitching: Features a massive 1/2" (12.7mm) maximum zig-zag width for versatile industrial use.
  • High-Capacity Rotary Hook: Equipped with an extra-large transverse horizontal axis hook to accommodate thick threads and reduce bobbin changes.
  • Heavy-Duty Feeding: Reliable drop-feed mechanism ensures consistent stitching through multiple layers of canvas, leather, and vinyl.
  • Modern Servo Motor: Includes a 110V digital Servo motor for silent operation, 90% energy savings, and pinpoint speed control.
  • Spacious Workspace: A generous 10 5/8" (270mm) work area allows for easy maneuvering of large, bulky projects.
  • Stitch Type: 3-Step / 2-Stitch Zig-Zag (Federal Type 308)
  • Max Sewing Speed: 1,200 Stitches Per Minute (SPM)
  • Max Stitch Width: 1/2" (12.7 mm)
  • Max Stitch Length: 2 S.P.I. (14 mm)
  • Presser Foot Clearance: 33/64" (13 mm)
  • Needle System: 214 x 1
  • Needle Bar Stroke: 2" (50 mm)
  • Hook Type: Extra-Large Transverse Horizontal Axis (1855)
  • Bed Size: 10" x 20 15/32" (250 mm x 520 mm)
  • Workspace: 10 5/8" (270 mm)
  • Synthetic & Heavy Fabrics: Nylon webbing, heavy canvas, vinyl, and leather alternatives.
  • Specialized Gear: Elasticized foundation garments, heavy blankets, and rope products.
  • Marine & Outdoor: Professional sailmaking, boat covers, and fishing net repair.
  • Industrial Goods: Luggage manufacturing, carpet binding, and upholstery reinforcement.

U.S. WARRANTY:

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs

What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?

The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.

Where does the machine oil go?

A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.

What kind of oil does this machine require?

You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.

What size table can I get with this machine?

Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.

Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?

No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

Because of the Servo motor speed control, most users find the machine more straightforward to use. Both beginning and seasoned sewers find this feature helpful when stitching projects that don't demand high-speed stitching.
