Consew Premier 1541S-CC

is a heavy-duty, single-needle lockstitch machine designed for the most demanding upholstery and leather projects. Featuring a Triple Feed mechanism (drop feed, needle feed, and alternating walking feet), it ensures perfect material transit without slippage or layer shifting. The "S" designation indicates a built-in safety clutch to protect the internal gears, while the "CC" (Centralized Oiling) system ensures all critical parts stay lubricated for smooth, high-speed operation.

The 1541 series is world-renowned for its "climb-over" capability—it can transition from two layers of leather to four layers without skipping a stitch or changing length. The addition of the Safety Clutch and Centralized Oiling makes this "Premier" version a low-maintenance, high-reliability choice for professional shops.

  • Triple Feed (Unison Feed) System: Combines needle feed, drop feed, and walking feet to handle bulky, slippery, or heavy materials with absolute precision.
  • Integrated Safety Clutch: Automatically disengages the hook drive if the thread jams or the machine is overloaded, preventing costly damage to the timing and gears.
  • Centralized Oiling (CC): Features a centralized lubrication system with a visible oil window, ensuring long-term mechanical durability with reduced maintenance.
  • Large Vertical Rotary Hook: Includes a large-capacity bobbin system, allowing for the use of thick threads and reducing the frequency of bobbin changes.
  • High-Torque Servo Motor: Equipped with a 110V digital Servo motor providing 90% energy efficiency and superior piercing power at low speeds for thick leather.
  • Rectangular Feed Motion: Provides consistent feeding across all material thicknesses, preventing "gathering" on light fabrics and "stalling" on heavy ones.
  • Stitch Type: Single Needle Lockstitch (Type 301)
  • Max Sewing Speed: 2,500 Stitches Per Minute (SPM)
  • Max Stitch Length: 2.5 S.P.I. (9 mm)
  • Presser Foot Clearance: 1/2" (13 mm) by Knee / 11/32" (9 mm) by Hand
  • Needle System: 135 x 17
  • Bobbin Type: Large Vertical Axis Hook (M-Style)
  • Workspace: 10" (255 mm)
  • Lubrication: Centralized Oiling (CC)
  • Safety Mechanism: Built-in Safety Clutch
  • Automotive & Marine: Custom car interiors, boat covers, convertible tops, and aircraft upholstery.
  • Leather Goods: Handbags, belts, wallets, and heavy-duty footwear.
  • Furniture Upholstery: Leather sofas, canvas cushions, and heavy drapery.

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs

What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?

The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.

Where does the machine oil go?

A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.

What kind of oil does this machine require?

You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.

What size table can I get with this machine?

Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.

Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?

No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

Because of the Servo motor speed control, most users find the machine more straightforward to use. Both beginning and seasoned sewers find this feature helpful when stitching projects that don't demand high-speed stitching.
