Consew P1255RB-1
is a high-performance industrial sewing machine from Consew’s celebrated Premier Line. It is engineered specifically for medium to heavy-weight materials, making it a staple in the automotive, marine, and furniture upholstery industries.
Featuring a Compound Feed (Triple Feed) mechanism—where the needle, feed dog, and walking foot work in perfect synchronization—this machine ensures that multi-layered or slippery materials like leather and vinyl never shift during the stitching process. Often compared to the industry-standard Juki LU-1508N, the P1255RB-1 offers premium reliability and "soft-stitch" quality at a more accessible price point.
- Compound Feed (Triple Feed): Synchronized movement of the walking foot, needle, and feed dog prevents material slippage and ensures perfectly uniform stitches.
- Large Top-Loaded Bobbin: The high-capacity vertical-axis hook allows for easy bobbin access from the top and reduces downtime by holding more thread for long upholstery seams.
- Safety Clutch: Automatically disengages the hook drive if the thread jams, protecting the timing and internal gears from damage.
- Advanced Lubrication: Equipped with a fully automatic plunger oil pump system with an adjustable flow and a clear glass sight for easy oil monitoring.
- Locking Stitch Regulator: A barrel-type dial allows you to set and lock your stitch length, preventing accidental changes during high-speed production.
- Quick Tension Release: Simplifies material removal by automatically releasing thread tension when the presser foot is raised.

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs
What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?
The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.
Where does the machine oil go?
A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.
What kind of oil does this machine require?
You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.
What size table can I get with this machine?
Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.
Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?
No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.
THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR
Because of the Servo motor speed control, most users find the machine more straightforward to use. Both beginning and seasoned sewers find this feature helpful when stitching projects that don't demand high-speed stitching.
They use up to 90% less power than clutch motors
They are 1/3 lighter than clutch motors
With a flick of the switch, you can reverse motor rotation
No parts to wear out or adjust
No matter how hard you press the foot pedal, the configured speed remains the same.
