Consew EF423AL

is a professional-grade industrial serger specifically engineered for the demanding task of overedging heavyweight carpets and rugs. Built for durability and high-volume production, this three-thread machine effortlessly finishes thick materials, from high-pile residential carpets to heavy-duty industrial mats. Paired with a precision servo motor, it offers the perfect balance of raw power and fine speed control.

Why Choose the EF423AL?

While standard sergers struggle with the density of floor coverings, the EF423AL is purpose-built for the job. Its ability to penetrate 15mm of material while maintaining a high speed of 2,000 SPM makes it an essential tool for flooring professionals and rug manufacturers who require a factory-quality finish on every project.

  • Heavy-Duty Performance: Optimized to handle thick backing and high-pile fabrics without skipped stitches or thread breakage.
  • Versatile 3-Thread Overedge: Provides a robust, clean finish that prevents fraying and ensures a long-lasting carpet edge.
  • Curve-Stitching Capability: With optional presser feet and cloth guides (available separately), this machine can navigate curves and intricate rug shapes.
  • Quiet Servo Motor: Features an energy-efficient servo motor that uses up to 90% less power than traditional clutch motors, operates silently, and allows for precise speed adjustment.
  • Industrial Build: Designed for continuous use in high-output manufacturing environments.
  • Max Sewing Speed : 2,000 SPM (Stitches Per Minute)
  • Needle System : EF x 42 (#26)
  • Stitch Range : 3mm – 7mm
  • Overedging Width : 15/32" (12mm)
  • Material Thickness : Up to 19/32" (15mm)
  • Number of Threads : 3 Threads
  • Number of Needles : 1 (Single Needle)

The Consew EF423AL is the industry standard for:

  • Carpet Overedging: Finishing the edges of area rugs, runners, and wall-to-wall carpeting.

  • Industrial Mats: Seaming and finishing heavy floor coverings for commercial use.

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs

What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?

The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.

Where does the machine oil go?

A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.

What kind of oil does this machine require?

You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.

What size table can I get with this machine?

Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.

Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?

No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

Because of the Servo motor speed control, most users find the machine more straightforward to use. Both beginning and seasoned sewers find this feature helpful when stitching projects that don't demand high-speed stitching.
