Consew CN-897VF

is the flagship of the V-Series, representing the next generation of high-speed, flat-bed coverstitch technology. Specifically engineered for versatility, this 3-needle, 5-thread machine is designed for everything from basic hemming to complex decorative topstitching. With a refined internal oiling system and enhanced needle bar stability, the CN-897VF delivers "whisper-quiet" operation even at its top speed of 6,000 SPM, making it the premier choice for high-volume apparel manufacturers.

Why Choose the V-Series CN-897VF?

The "V" in CN-897VF stands for a more refined manufacturing process that focuses on heat dissipation and vibration reduction. While it shares many specs with the standard 697VF, the V-Series is built for the operator who spends 8+ hours a day behind the machine, offering a more ergonomic and stable sewing experience. It is the perfect blend of traditional Consew durability and modern precision.

  • V-Series Engineering: Enhanced internal mechanics provide smoother operation, reduced vibration, and longer part life compared to standard models.
  • Versatile Thread Configuration: Set it up as a 2-needle or 3-needle machine with or without top decorative coverstitching.
  • Micro-Adjustable Differential Feed: Features an external lever for real-time adjustment, ensuring flat seams on tricky synthetics or intentional shirring on knits.
  • Advanced Lubrication System: A fully automatic, centrifugal oil pump with a replaceable filter keeps the machine running cool during 24/7 production.
  • Push-Button Stitch Control: Quick-change stitch length regulator allows operators to switch between styles in seconds.
  • Direct-Drive Compatible Servo: The included high-torque servo motor provides instant start/stop response and complete speed customization.
  • Max Sewing Speed : 6,000 SPM (Stitches Per Minute)
  • Standard Needle Gauge : 5.6mm (7/32") or 6.4mm (1/4")
  • Number of Needles : 3 (Can be used with 1 or 2)
  • Number of Threads : 5 Threads (Top and Bottom Cover)
  • Stitch Length : 1.2mm – 4.4mm
  • Differential Ratio : 1:0.5 ~ 1:2.9
  • Needle System : UY128GAS
  • Presser Foot Lift : 6.0 mm

The CN-897VF V-Series is a multi-purpose workhorse for:

  • Performance Activewear: Flat, comfortable seams for leggings, yoga wear, and cycling jerseys.
  • Undergarments: High-speed hemming and binding for intimates and t-shirts.
  • Knitwear: Specialized for high-stretch fabrics like Spandex, Lycra, and jersey knits.
  • Decorative Stitching: Using the top spreader for ornamental topstitching on necklines and cuffs.
  • Tape Binding: Compatible with various folders for adding tape to collars and armholes.

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs

What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?

The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.

Where does the machine oil go?

A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.

What kind of oil does this machine require?

You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.

What size table can I get with this machine?

Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.

Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?

No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

Because of the Servo motor speed control, most users find the machine more straightforward to use. Both beginning and seasoned sewers find this feature helpful when stitching projects that don't demand high-speed stitching.
