Consew CN-897VC

is a professional-grade, high-speed cylinder-bed coverstitch machine designed for circular and tubular sewing tasks. As part of the premium V-Series, it features refined internal engineering for smoother operation and higher durability. Its small-diameter cylinder bed makes it the industry choice for finishing sleeve cuffs, necklines, and waistbands on athletic wear and intimate apparel. Paired with a silent, energy-efficient servo motor, it offers the ultimate combination of precision and power.

Why Choose the CN-897VC?

While the CN-897VF (Flat-bed) is excellent for long, flat seams, the CN-897VC is a necessity for any shop producing finished garments. Without the cylinder bed, hemming small tubular openings like children's sleeves or tight ankle cuffs is nearly impossible. This machine provides the versatility to handle those difficult geometries while maintaining the industrial speed and "V-Series" reliability Consew is known for.

  • Cylinder-Bed Design: Specifically engineered for "sewing in the round"—perfect for tubular items like sleeves, pant legs, and collars.
  • V-Series Performance: Enhanced mechanical build reduces vibration and noise, even when operating at the maximum speed of 6,000 SPM
  • Precise Differential Feed: Features a micrometric adjustment (Ratio 1:0.3 to 1:2.9) to handle high-stretch fabrics without puckering or waving.
  • Advanced Lubrication & Cooling: Fully automatic lubrication system with a replaceable filter and a silicone-based needle cooling system to prevent thread breakage during high-speed runs.
  • Push-Button Stitch Regulator: Easily modify stitch length with a simple push-button mechanism for quick transitions between projects.
  • Quiet Servo Motor: The included 110V servo motor provides 90% energy savings over clutch motors and allows for complete speed control.
  • Max Sewing Speed : 6,000 SPM (Stitches Per Minute)
  • Bed Type : Cylinder-Bed (Tubular Work)
  • Needle Configuration : 2 or 3 Needles (Comes with 3-needle, 5.6mm gauge)
  • Number of Threads : 4 or 5 Threads (Top and Bottom Cover)
  • Stitch Length : 1.4mm – 3.6mm
  • Differential Ratio : 1:0.3 ~ 1:2.9
  • Presser Foot Lift : 7.0 mm
  • Needle System : UY128GAS

The CN-897VC is the specialized tool for:

  • Tubular Hemming: Finishing cuffs on t-shirts, sweatshirts, and activewear.
  • Necklines & Waistbands: Attaching or hemming elastic and ribbing on circular openings.
  • Activewear & Swimwear: Handling high-stretch Lycra and Spandex with professional flat seams.
  • Intimate Apparel: Delicate hemming on underwear and lingerie.
  • Tape Binding: Compatible with cylinder-bed binders for clean edge finishing on curved seams.

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs

What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?

The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.

Where does the machine oil go?

A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.

What kind of oil does this machine require?

You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.

What size table can I get with this machine?

Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.

Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?

No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

Because of the Servo motor speed control, most users find the machine more straightforward to use. Both beginning and seasoned sewers find this feature helpful when stitching projects that don't demand high-speed stitching.
