Consew CM795
is a versatile, high-speed industrial overlock machine designed for professional seaming and edge finishing. Featuring a 2-needle, 5-thread "True Safety Stitch" configuration, it simultaneously sews a durable chainstitch and a wide overedge, creating seams that meet the highest industrial standards for strength. Engineered for smooth operation at speeds up to 7,000 SPM, this machine is a staple in apparel factories and professional tailoring shops worldwide.
The CM795 is the industry's "sweet spot" for performance. While other models offer direct-drive motors or automatic trimmers, the standard CM795 remains the preferred choice for many due to its simplicity and ease of maintenance. It provides the same 7,000 SPM power and "True Safety Stitch" as the more expensive versions, but uses a traditional belt-drive system that is easy to service and compatible with almost any workspace.
- True Safety Stitch: Combines a 3-thread overedge with a 2-thread chainstitch for maximum seam security in high-stress areas of a garment.
- Extreme Velocity: Capable of speeds up to 7,000 stitches per minute, allowing for rapid production without sacrificing stitch quality.
- Precision Differential Feed: Includes an easy-to-use adjustment dial to manage fabric stretch (shirring) or gather (stretching), ensuring flat seams on knits and wovens.
- Automatic Oiling System: Centrifugal lubrication with a high-capacity oil filter keeps internal components cool and extends the machine's lifespan.
- Versatile Threading: Can be configured as a 3-thread, 4-thread, or 5-thread machine depending on the specific job requirements.
- Advanced Servo Motor: Comes with a 110V adjustable speed servo motor that is 90% more energy-efficient and significantly quieter than traditional motors.
- Max Sewing Speed : 7,000 SPM (Stitches Per Minute)
- Stitch Type : 5-Thread Safety Stitch (Type 516)
- Needle Distance : 3.0 mm (Standard)
- Overedge Width : 5.0 mm
- Total Seam Width : 8.0 mm
- Stitch Length : 0.5 mm – 3.8 mm
- Differential Ratio : 0.7 – 2.0
- Needle System : DC x 27 (B-27)
The CM795 is the standard choice for:
- Apparel Manufacturing: Perfect for side seams on trousers, skirts, and woven shirts.
- Heavy-Duty Garments: Ideal for denim jeans, workwear, and jackets where seam strength is non-negotiable.
- Stretch Fabrics: Excellent for fleece, jersey, and spandex when the differential feed is adjusted for elasticity.
- Home Textiles: Seaming pillowcases, curtains, and light-to-medium upholstery.

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs
What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?
The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.
Where does the machine oil go?
A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.
What kind of oil does this machine require?
You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.
What size table can I get with this machine?
Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.
Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?
No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.
THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR
Because of the Servo motor speed control, most users find the machine more straightforward to use. Both beginning and seasoned sewers find this feature helpful when stitching projects that don't demand high-speed stitching.
They use up to 90% less power than clutch motors
They are 1/3 lighter than clutch motors
With a flick of the switch, you can reverse motor rotation
No parts to wear out or adjust
No matter how hard you press the foot pedal, the configured speed remains the same.
