Consew CM101 (Chandler Model)

is a heavy-duty, high-speed industrial blindstitcher engineered for 24/7 manufacturing and professional alteration departments. This single-thread chainstitch machine is the industry standard for creating "invisible" hems on everything from delicate dresses to heavy wool trousers. Mounted on a full-sized industrial table and powered by a modern Electronic Servo Motor, the CM101 provides the stability and torque required for precise, high-volume production.

Consew CM101 (Chandler)

is a stationary powerhouse for professional invisible hemming. Built for longevity and speed, it is the preferred choice for bridal boutiques, suit manufacturers, and high-volume dry cleaners. It combines the mechanical reliability of the Chandler design with the modern efficiency of an electronic servo motor.

  • Skip Stitch Function: Easily switch between 1:1 and 2:1 (skip stitch) ratios to ensure hems remain invisible on both heavy and sheer materials.
  • Adjustable Penetration Dial: Precise calibrated dial allows you to control exactly how deep the needle enters the fabric, preventing "show-through" on the face of the garment.
  • Stationary Industrial Build: Mounted on a 20" x 48" heavy-duty table for maximum stability and reduced vibration during high-speed sewing.
  • Electronic Servo Motor: Provides instant needle response and adjustable speed control, allowing the operator to slow down for tricky curves or speed up for long hems.
  • Swing-Down Cylinder Arm: Specifically designed for effortless hemming of small-diameter items like cuffs and children's wear.
  • Stitch Type: Single-Thread, Chainstitch Blindstitch (Type 103)
  • Max Sewing Speed: 2,500 Stitches Per Minute (SPM)
  • Stitch Length: 3.0 mm – 8.0 mm
  • Skip Stitch Ratio: 1:1 and 2:1 (Switchable)
  • Needle System: LW x 6T (Curved Needle)
  • Presser Foot Lift: 8.0 mm
  • Cylinder Arm Diameter: 2" (50 mm)
  • Motor Type: 550W High-Torque Electronic Servo Motor (110V)
  • Table Size: 20" x 48" Industrial Laminated Top
  • Suit & Trouser Production: The primary machine for finishing hems on high-end slacks and suit jackets.
  • Bridal & Evening Wear: Creating delicate, invisible hems on multilayered skirts and gowns.
  • Sleeve & Cuff Finishing: Effortless tubular hemming for dress shirts and outerwear.
  • Drapery & Home Decor: Ideal for invisible hems on medium-weight curtains and linens.
  • Tailoring Alterations: The standard for shortening hems while maintaining a factory-quality finish.

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs

What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?

The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.

Where does the machine oil go?

A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.

What kind of oil does this machine require?

You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.

What size table can I get with this machine?

Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.

Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?

No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

Because of the Servo motor speed control, most users find the machine more straightforward to use. Both beginning and seasoned sewers find this feature helpful when stitching projects that don't demand high-speed stitching.
