Consew 745R30

is engineered specifically for "extra-heavy" materials that demand an expansive working area. With its 30-inch (762mm) horizontal clearance, this machine eliminates the difficulty of managing bulky fabrics like truck tarps, pool covers, and large-scale leather assemblies. Its Drop-Feed system is optimized for heavy-weight materials, and the double-needle configuration allows you to sew two perfectly parallel rows of structural stitching in a single pass, doubling your productivity on oversized panels.

  • 30-Inch Extra-Long Arm: Offers a massive 762mm workspace to the right of the needle, allowing for the easy handling of large, rolled, or folded materials.
  • Double-Needle Configuration: Creates two parallel rows of high-strength lockstitching. Standard gauge is provided, allowing for decorative and structural reinforcement on heavy seams.
  • Extra-Large Shuttle Hooks: Equipped with two giant shuttle hooks and large-capacity bobbins, specifically designed to handle thick bonded threads (up to #0) and reduce bobbin changes.
  • High-Torque Needle Penetration: The mechanical timing and motor torque are tuned for penetrating multiple layers of extra-heavy materials like webbing, heavy canvas, and thick leather.
  • High Presser Foot Lift: A manual and knee-operated lift provides ample clearance (up to 20mm depending on adjustment) for inserting thick, multi-layered workpieces.
  • Robust Drop-Feed System: The powerful bottom-feed mechanism ensures consistent movement of heavy materials through the sewing area.
  • Number of Needles : 2 (Double Needle)
  • Feeding System : Drop Feed
  • Max. Sewing Speed : 1,200 stitches per minute
  • Workspace (Length) : 30" (762 mm)
  • Max. Stitch Length : 10 mm (2.5 stitches per inch)
  • Needle System : 7x3 (DYx3) or 794
  • Presser Foot Lift : 13 mm (Hand) / 20 mm (Knee)
  • Hook Type : Two Extra-Large Shuttle Hooks
  • Thread Size Range : #138 up to #0 (Bonded Nylon/Polyester)
  • Outdoor & Marine: Truck tarps, boat covers, awnings, and large tents.
  • Industrial Safety: Cargo slings, safety nets, and heavy-duty webbing.
  • Heavy Upholstery: Large leather sofas, theater curtains, and gym mats.

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs

What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?

The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.

Where does the machine oil go?

A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.

What kind of oil does this machine require?

You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.

What size table can I get with this machine?

Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.

Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?

No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

Because of the Servo motor speed control, most users find the machine more straightforward to use. Both beginning and seasoned sewers find this feature helpful when stitching projects that don't demand high-speed stitching.
