Consew 347R-3A-1

The Consew 347R-3A-1 is a specialized industrial lockstitch machine designed for high-strength, decorative, and functional zig-zag stitching on tubular items. This specific model features a 3-stitch (4-point) zig-zag, which provides maximum seam elasticity and security, making it superior for materials that experience high tension or stretch.

The feed-off-the-arm cylinder bed allows operators to easily manipulate sleeves, pant legs, boots, and bags that are impossible to sew on a flatbed. Paired with a modern Servo Motor, this machine offers silent operation, significant energy savings, and the precise speed control required for intricate work.

The 347R-3A-1 is built for specialized manufacturers who require a combination of elasticity and strength. Its 4-step stitch ensures that even under high tension, the seam remains secure and aesthetically professional, making it a critical asset for the production of diving, surfing, and medical-grade equipment.

  • 3-Stitch (4-Step) Zig-Zag: Provides a more secure and elastic stitch than standard zig-zag, preventing "tunneling" and ensuring seams stay flat on stretchable materials.
  • Feed-Off-The-Arm Design: Specialized architecture allows tubular items to fall away from the machine, facilitating the closing of sleeves and circular garments without obstruction.
  • Small Diameter Cylinder Bed: The narrow 2-3/16" (55mm) bed is ideal for stitching small-diameter items such as boots, gloves, and athletic bracing.
  • High-Speed Operation: Capable of reaching up to 3,000 SPM (stitches per minute) for maximum industrial efficiency.
  • Transverse Rotary Hook: Features a horizontal axis rotary hook for consistent thread tension and smooth stitch formation.
  • Drop Feed Mechanism: Provides precise material control for light to medium-weight fabrics, including vinyl, canvas, and coated synthetics.
  • Reverse Feeding: Equipped with a dedicated lever for instant back-tacking and seam reinforcement.
  • Stitch Type: 3-Stitch (4-Step) Zig-Zag
  • Max Sewing Speed: 3,000 SPM
  • Max Zig-Zag Width: 3/8" (9.5 mm)
  • Max Stitch Length: 5 SPI (5 mm)
  • Cylinder Diameter: 2-3/16" (55 mm)
  • Presser Foot Lift: 1/4" (6 mm)
  • Needle Bar Stroke: 1-19/64" (33 mm)
  • Needle System: 135 x 5
  • Work Space: 10" (255 mm)
  • Bed Type: Cylinder Bed / Feed-Off-The-Arm
  • Technical Apparel: Ideal for wet suits, diving gear, and high-performance activewear.
  • Orthopedic Goods: Perfect for surgical and orthopedic appliances, knee/elbow braces, and elastic supports.
  • Footwear & Accessories: Designed for stitching boots, shoes, gloves, and tubular leather items.
  • Outdoor & Marine: Reinforced zig-zag stitching on light-weight sails, tarpaulins, and awnings.
  • Specialty Manufacturing: Closing mops, tubular filters, and decorative stitching on curved apparel.

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs

What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?

The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.

Where does the machine oil go?

A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.

What kind of oil does this machine require?

You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.

What size table can I get with this machine?

Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.

Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?

No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

Because of the Servo motor speed control, most users find the machine more straightforward to use. Both beginning and seasoned sewers find this feature helpful when stitching projects that don't demand high-speed stitching.
