Consew 347R-1A-1WS

is a high-performance industrial sewing machine specifically engineered for technical textiles and heavy-duty tubular work. It features an innovative feed-off-the-arm cylinder bed that allows cylindrical items like sleeves, bags, and wetsuit legs to fall away from the needle effortlessly. This prevents fabric bunching and ensures smooth, high-speed production on complex, curved seams.

  • Dual Feed System: Utilizes both upper and lower feed (walking foot) mechanisms to prevent fabric layers from shifting, even when sewing slippery or heavy materials.
  • 3-Step (2-Point) Zig-Zag: Provides a strong, elastic Type 308 lockstitch that is essential for stretchable materials like neoprene and high-stress technical apparel.
  • Off-The-Arm Design: The specialized 10-inch arm and narrow cylinder bed facilitate easy maneuvering of tubular garments and small-diameter items.
  • Industrial Speed & Control: Capable of speeds up to 3,000 stitches per minute, powered by a silent, energy-saving servo motor with adjustable speed settings.
  • Advanced Stitch Quality: Features a transverse rotary hook for consistent thread tension and a dedicated reverse lever for instant back-tacking reinforcement.
  • Max Speed: 3,000 Stitches Per Minute (SPM)
  • Stitch Type: Single needle zig-zag (Type 308)
  • Max Zig-Zag Width: 3/8" (9.5mm)
  • Max Stitch Length: 5 SPI (5mm)
  • Cylinder Diameter: 2-3/16" (55mm)
  • Work Space: 10" (255mm)
  • Needle System: 135x5 (DPx5)
  • Feeding Mechanism: Upper and lower feed (walking foot)
  • Motor Type: 110V Electronic Servo Motor
  • Technical Apparel: Premier choice for wetsuits, drysuits, and neoprene diving gear.
  • Medical & Orthopedic: Perfect for stitching knee/elbow braces, surgical appliances, and elastic supports.
  • Footwear & Accessories: Specifically designed for closing boots, shoes, gloves, and circular leather items.
  • Outdoor Gear: Reinforced zig-zag stitching on sails, tarpaulins, and awnings

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs

What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?

The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.

Where does the machine oil go?

A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.

What kind of oil does this machine require?

You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.

What size table can I get with this machine?

Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.

Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?

No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

Because of the Servo motor speed control, most users find the machine more straightforward to use. Both beginning and seasoned sewers find this feature helpful when stitching projects that don't demand high-speed stitching.
