Consew 347R-1A-1

is a heavy-duty, single-needle lockstitch machine specifically engineered for sewing cylindrical and tubular objects. Featuring a unique feed-off-the-arm cylinder bed, this machine allows for effortless maneuvering of circular pieces like sleeves, boots, and bags. It produces a precise 1-stitch (2-point) zig-zag and is ideal for light to medium-weight materials.

Equipped with a modern Servo Motor, this unit offers silent operation and adjustable speed control, making it perfect for both high-production environments and precision detail work.

  • Feed-Off-The-Arm Design: Specialized architecture allows circular garments to slide past the needle without obstruction—ideal for closing sleeves and circular seams.
  • Small Diameter Cylinder Bed: The narrow 55mm (2-3/16") bed provides the clearance needed for small-diameter items like gloves, boots, and athletic bracing.
  • High-Speed Efficiency: Reaches speeds up to 3,000 SPM, significantly increasing production output for commercial shops.
  • Adjustable Zig-Zag Width: Offers a generous width up to 9.5mm, providing strong, flexible seams for technical apparel.
  • Quiet Servo Motor: Includes a 110V energy-saving servo motor for silent operation and adjustable speed control.
  • Max Sewing Speed: 3,000 Stitches Per Minute (SPM)
  • Stitch Type: Single Needle Zig-Zag (Type 304)
  • Max Zig-Zag Width: 3/8" (9.5mm)
  • Max Stitch Length: 5mm (5 SPI)
  • Cylinder Diameter: 2-3/16" (55mm)
  • Needle System: 135 x 5 (DPx5)
  • Work Space: 10" (255mm)
  • Presser Foot Lift: 6mm
  • Technical Apparel: Premier choice for wet suits, neoprene gear, and high-performance activewear.
  • Footwear & Accessories: Designed for stitching boots, gloves, and tubular leather items.
  • Medical & Orthopedics: Precise stitching for knee/elbow braces, elastic supports, and compression sleeves.
  • Specialty Manufacturing: Ideal for closing mops, filters, and decorative stitching on curved apparel.

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs

What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?

The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.

Where does the machine oil go?

A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.

What kind of oil does this machine require?

You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.

What size table can I get with this machine?

Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.

Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?

No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

Because of the Servo motor speed control, most users find the machine more straightforward to use. Both beginning and seasoned sewers find this feature helpful when stitching projects that don't demand high-speed stitching.
