The Consew 3421UX5-2

is a powerhouse industrial sewing machine engineered for heavy-duty applications requiring a secure, flexible double-chainstitch. Combining needle feed and alternating presser feet (walking foot), this machine ensures perfectly synchronized material movement, eliminating fabric shifting or ply-slippage. Capable of speeds up to 3,500 SPM, it is the premier choice for manufacturing high-stress items like automotive upholstery, heavy luggage, and workwear. This unit comes fully assembled with a professional industrial table and an energy-efficient Servo motor.

  • Double Chainstitch (Type 401): Creates a high-strength, two-thread stitch that offers more elasticity and durability than a standard lockstitch, making it ideal for seams under high tension.
  • Synchronized Needle Feed & Walking Foot: The needle and presser feet move in tandem to pull heavy, slippery, or multi-layered materials through the machine without shifting or bunching.
  • High-Speed Productivity: Operates at a maximum speed of 3,500 SPM, significantly outperforming standard heavy-duty machines.
  • Large Clearance Under Foot: An extra-high presser foot lift allows for easy maneuvering of bulky materials and thick leather.
  • Fully Automatic Lubrication: Features a centrifugal oil pump system with a visible oil gauge for easy maintenance and long-term mechanical reliability.
  • Adjustable Stitch Length: Easily vary stitch length up to 6.5mm via the large stitch dial.
  • Precision Servo Motor: The included 110V Servo motor provides silent operation, variable speed control, and reduced power consumption.
  • Stitch Type: Double Thread Chainstitch (Stitch Type 401)
  • Maximum Speed: 3,500 SPM
  • Needle System: 135 x 17 (DPx17)
  • Needle Bar Stroke: 1-5/16" (33 mm)
  • Maximum Stitch Length: 4 SPI (6.5 mm)
  • Presser Foot Lift: 1/2" (13 mm) by Knee / 5/16" (8 mm) by Hand
  • Work Space: 10" x 5" (254 mm x 127 mm)
  • Motor: 110V Electronic DC Servo Motor
  • Automotive & Marine: Perfect for sewing car seats, boat interiors, convertible tops, and heavy vinyl upholstery.
  • Apparel & Workwear: High-stress seams on denim, canvas work jackets, uniforms, and military gear.
  • Travel Goods: Construction of heavy-duty luggage, backpacks, sports bags, and duffels.
  • Leather Goods: Efficiently handles belts, bags, and saddlery items.
  • Tents & Awnings: Securely sews long runs of heavy canvas or synthetic outdoor fabrics.

U.S. WARRANTY:

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs

What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?

The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.

Where does the machine oil go?

A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.

What kind of oil does this machine require?

You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.

What size table can I get with this machine?

Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.

Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?

No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

Because of the Servo motor speed control, most users find the machine more straightforward to use. Both beginning and seasoned sewers find this feature helpful when stitching projects that don't demand high-speed stitching.
