Consew 3321 Series

is a heavy-duty, high-speed industrial machine designed for demanding multi-needle operations. Unlike standard chainstitch machines, the 3321 series combines Drop Feed, Needle Feed (Compound Feed), and a Walking Presser Foot. This unique triple-action feeding mechanism ensures that heavy, slippery, or multi-layered fabrics move in perfect synchronization, eliminating ply-shifting and ensuring consistent stitch lengths. 

Because it utilizes a Double Chainstitch (Type 401), there are no bobbins to wind or change, making it ideal for continuous, long-seam production in automotive, marine, and furniture upholstery. 

  • Multi-Needle Configuration: Available in 1 to 6 needle varieties, allowing for multiple parallel rows of stitching in a single pass. 
  • Compound Feed & Walking Foot: The needle and walking foot work together with the feed dog to provide powerful, even feeding on heavy-weight fabrics like vinyl, leather, and canvas. 
  • Double Chainstitch (No Bobbins): Uses thread directly from large cones for both the needle and looper, allowing for non-stop sewing without bobbin interruptions. 
  • Semi-Automatic Lubrication: Features a recirculating pump system that ensures all internal high-speed components remain cooled and lubricated. 
  • Simplified Looper System: The looper "throw-out" design provides easy access for fast, frustration-free threading.6

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs

What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?

The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.

Where does the machine oil go?

A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.

What kind of oil does this machine require?

You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.

What size table can I get with this machine?

Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.

Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?

No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.
