Consew 277RBFS

is a high-speed, heavy-duty lockstitch machine designed specifically for small, curved, or tubular work. Its standout feature is the narrow-profile cylinder arm, which is significantly slimmer than standard models, allowing you to sew inside tight gussets, sleeves, and footwear with ease. Utilizing a Compound Feed (Triple Feed) mechanism, the 277RBFS ensures that multiple layers of leather, vinyl, or heavy fabrics are fed evenly without shifting or puckering, delivering factory-perfect seams every time.

Why Choose the 277RBFS?

The "FS" in the model name signifies the Narrow Feed and specialized arm profile. If your projects involve small openings (under 2 inches) that standard walking foot machines cannot fit into, the 277RBFS is the professional solution. It offers the same heavy-duty "Triple Feed" power as larger machines but in a much more maneuverable package.

  • Narrow Diameter Cylinder Arm: Engineered for specialized applications like small bags, shoes, and tight upholstery curves where a standard arm is too large.
  • Compound Feed (Triple Feed): Synchronized needle, feed dog, and walking foot movement provides a powerful, non-slip feed for thick or tacky materials.
  • Vertical Axis Large Rotary Hook: Features a large capacity bobbin, allowing for longer sewing runs with thick industrial threads and fewer bobbin changes.
  • Alternating Presser Feet: The walking foot "climbs" over thick seams and varying material heights without changing the stitch length or skipping.
  • Safety Clutch: A built-in safety mechanism protects the hook and gears by disengaging automatically in the event of a thread jam or needle strike.
  • Quiet Servo Motor: The included 110V electronic motor is silent when not in use and offers variable speed control—vital for precision sewing on intricate projects.
  • Stitch Type: 301 Lockstitch
  • Max Sewing Speed: 2,000 SPM
  • Max Stitch Length: 4.2 s.p.i. (6mm)
  • Cylinder Arm Diameter: 1 13/16" (46mm)
  • Cylinder Arm Length: 10 1/4" (258mm)
  • Presser Foot Lift: 5/16" (8mm) by hand / 1/2" (13mm) by knee
  • Needle System: 135 x 17 (DPx17)
  • Hook Type: Vertical Axis Large Rotary Hook
  • Lubrication: Semi-Automatic (Oiler)
  • Work Space: 10" (254mm)

The 277RBFS is the ideal choice for "small-scale" heavy manufacturing and repair:

  • Footwear: Closing seams and finishing uppers on shoes and boots.
  • Small Leather Goods: Purses, cardholders, watch straps, and holsters.
  • Upholstery: Trimming and finishing tight, curved sections of automotive seats and furniture.
  • Bags & Luggage: Attaching handles, gussets, and zippers in confined spaces.
  • Apparel: Heavy-duty repair on sleeves, cuffs, and pocket sections.

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs

What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?

The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.

Where does the machine oil go?

A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.

What kind of oil does this machine require?

You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.

What size table can I get with this machine?

Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.

Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?

No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

Because of the Servo motor speed control, most users find the machine more straightforward to use. Both beginning and seasoned sewers find this feature helpful when stitching projects that don't demand high-speed stitching.
