Consew 254RB-3

is a high-speed, heavy-duty lockstitch machine designed for sewing medium to heavyweight materials. Engineered for reliability in demanding production environments, it features a Triple Feed (Compound Feed) system—combining drop feed, needle feed, and alternating walking feet. This synchronization ensures that multiple layers of slippery or bulky materials move through the machine at a perfectly uniform rate, eliminating fabric shifting and ensuring consistent stitch length even over thick seams.

  • Triple Feed (Compound Feed) Mechanism: The synchronized action of the feed dog, needle, and walking presser feet provides powerful traction, making it ideal for leather, vinyl, and laminated fabrics.
  • Large Vertical-Axis Hook: Equipped with a large-capacity bobbin system that reduces the frequency of thread changes, maximizing your uptime during long production runs.
  • High-Speed Performance: Reaches up to 2,500 stitches per minute, making it one of the faster walking foot machines in its class for increased output.
  • Automatic Lubrication System: Features a built-in oil pump that continuously lubricates the hooks and internal gears, ensuring smooth operation and a longer machine lifespan.
  • Safety Clutch: Automatically disengages the hooks if the thread jams or the machine is overloaded, protecting the internal timing and preventing costly gear damage.
  • Dial-Adjustable Stitch Length: Easily change your stitch length up to 10mm (approx. 2.5 stitches per inch) with a simple turn of the front-facing dial.
  • Adjustable Speed Servo Motor: Paired with a 110V digital servo motor for silent operation, precise control in corners, and up to 90% energy savings.
  • Number of Needles: 1 (Single)
  • Feeding Mechanism: Needle Feed

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs

What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?

The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.

Where does the machine oil go?

A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.

What kind of oil does this machine require?

You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.

What size table can I get with this machine?

Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.

Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?

No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

Because of the Servo motor speed control, most users find the machine more straightforward to use. Both beginning and seasoned sewers find this feature helpful when stitching projects that don't demand high-speed stitching.
