Consew 2206RB-14-7-DD

is a premier, automated heavy-duty sewing system designed for maximum throughput and operator ease. This machine takes the legendary "Triple-Feed" (Walking Foot) power of the 206RB series and integrates a high-torque Direct-Drive Servo Motor directly into the machine head.

With built-in Automatic Thread Trimming, Auto-Backtacking, and an Auto-Foot Lift, this machine drastically reduces production time per piece. The "14-7" designation represents its large-capacity bobbin and specialized automated subclass, making it the definitive choice for professional upholstery, automotive interiors, and leather manufacturing where speed and precision are paramount.

  • Direct-Drive Efficiency: The motor is integrated into the machine head, providing silent operation, reduced vibration, and 90% more energy efficiency than clutch motors.
  • Full Automation Package: Includes automatic thread trimmer, automatic foot lift, and programmable backtacking to streamline complex sewing tasks.
  • Triple-Feed (Walking Foot) System: Synchronized needle, feed dog, and presser foot movement ensures zero material slippage on heavy leather, vinyl, or canvas.
  • Large "M" Class Bobbin: Features a high-capacity vertical-axis hook that allows for longer sewing cycles with heavy-duty bonded nylon threads.
  • Dual Tension Control: Allows for precise adjustment of thread tension when transitioning between different material thicknesses.
  • Safety Clutch Mechanism: Protects the internal timing and gears from damage in the event of a thread jam or needle strike.
  • High Foot Clearance: A massive 16mm (5/8") lift (via auto-lifter) allows for easy maneuvering of thick foam-backed upholstery and heavy hides.
  • Max Speed: 2,500 SPM (Stitches Per Minute)
  • Max Stitch Length: 9mm
  • Presser Foot Lift: 9mm (Hand) / 16mm (Auto-Lifter)
  • Needle System: 135 x 17 (DPx17) / Sizes #18 to #24
  • Bobbin Type: Large Vertical-Axis (M-Style)
  • Lubrication: Fully Automatic (Oil Pump System)
  • Motor: Integrated Direct-Drive AC Servo (110V)
  • Control Panel: Integrated digital display for stitch programming
  • Automotive & Marine Interiors: Professional-grade car seats, boat cushions, covers, and dashboards.
  • Heavy Leather Construction: Ideal for luggage, tool belts, saddles, and heavy-duty leather bags.
  • Upholstery & Furniture: Sewing heavy tapestries, thick sofa leathers, and foam-padded panels.
  • Outdoor Gear: Crafting heavy canvas tents, awnings, and tactical equipment.

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs

What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?

The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.

Where does the machine oil go?

A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.

What kind of oil does this machine require?

You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.

What size table can I get with this machine?

Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.

Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?

No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

Because of the Servo motor speed control, most users find the machine more straightforward to use. Both beginning and seasoned sewers find this feature helpful when stitching projects that don't demand high-speed stitching.
