Consew 206RBL-18

is a premier industrial sewing machine engineered for large-scale, heavy-duty projects. Featuring an extended 18-inch long arm, this machine provides nearly double the workspace of standard models, making it the industry standard for sewing oversized items like boat covers, upholstery, and tarpaulins. Its advanced Triple Feed (Compound Feed) mechanism—utilizing a synchronized drop feed, needle feed, and alternating walking feet—ensures consistent, even feeding of the thickest materials without slippage or fabric shifting.

The 206RBL-18 is compatible with standard feet and attachments from the Consew 225/226R-2 series, allowing for easy customization and low-cost maintenance. Its solid molded casting and all-gear driven hook mechanism make it one of the most durable long-arm machines in the commercial market.

  • 18" Long Arm Workspace: Provides 460mm of clearance to the right of the needle, perfect for handling bulky, rolled, or large-format materials.
  • Triple Feed (Walking Foot) Technology: Combined needle feed and walking foot mechanism ensures positive feeding for light to heavy-weight materials including leather and vinyl.
  • Extra-Long Stitch Capability: Produces a maximum stitch length of 10mm (2.5 stitches per inch), ideal for structural seams and decorative topstitching.
  • Safety Clutch System: Features a push-button re-engagement safety clutch to protect the hook and timing in the event of a thread jam.
  • High Presser Foot Clearance: A massive 9/16" (14mm) lift allows for easy maneuvering of thick multi-layered assemblies.
  • Large "M" Style Bobbin: Side-loading horizontal axis hook and large-capacity bobbin reduce downtime for bobbin changes during long production runs.
  • Centralized Lubrication: Equipped with a reservoir-oiled hook and micrometric control valve for consistent, automated oiling.
  • Max Speed: 1,800 Stitches Per Minute (SPM)
  • Max Stitch Length: 10mm (2.5 SPI)
  • Workspace (Long Arm): 18" (460mm)
  • Presser Foot Lift: 9/16" (14mm) by Knee; 5/16" (8mm) by Hand
  • Needle System: 135 x 17 (DPx17)
  • Bobbin Size: Large Horizontal Axis ("M" Style)
  • Stitch Type: 301 Lockstitch
  • Feeding Mechanism: Compound/Triple Feed (Drop, Needle, & Walking Foot)
  • Motor: Variable Speed Energy-Saving Servo Motor (110V)
  • Automotive & Marine: Boat covers, sails, convertible tops, and vehicle upholstery.
  • Outdoor Gear: Tents, awnings, tarpaulins, camping equipment, and umbrellas.
  • Leather & Luggage: Handbags, suitcases, heavy travel accessories, and saddles.
  • Furniture Upholstery: Thick fabrics, vinyl, and leather sofas or office seating.

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs

What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?

The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.

Where does the machine oil go?

A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.

What kind of oil does this machine require?

You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.

What size table can I get with this machine?

Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.

Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?

No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

Because of the Servo motor speed control, most users find the machine more straightforward to use. Both beginning and seasoned sewers find this feature helpful when stitching projects that don't demand high-speed stitching.
