Consew 199RBL-3A-1

is a high-speed, heavy-duty industrial machine engineered for the most demanding zig-zag operations. Featuring a specialized 3-step, 2-stitch pattern (Federal Stitch Type 308), it is designed to prevent "seam cracking" by allowing the stitch to stretch with the fabric. Equipped with a large horizontal axis rotary hook and a powerful Servo motor, this machine is the premier choice for intimate apparel, lace attachment, and synthetic webbing

While standard zig-zag machines (2-point) can cause seams to "pop" when the fabric is pulled, the 3-step pattern of the 199RBL-3A-1 distributes the tension across more points of contact. This makes it an indispensable tool for any manufacturer working with spandex, Lycra, or heavy elastics.

  • 3-Step Zig-Zag (Stitch Type 308): Creates a highly secure, elastic seam that prevents thread breakage on stretching materials.
  • Large Horizontal Rotary Hook: Features a high-capacity bobbin system that allows for longer sewing cycles and accommodates thicker threads.
  • High-Speed Performance: Capable of speeds up to 2,500 SPM, significantly increasing production efficiency.
  • Adjustable Stitch Width: Offers a wide 10mm zig-zag for versatile structural and decorative applications.
  • Energy-Efficient Servo Motor: Includes a 110V digital Servo motor for silent operation, 90% power savings, and precise speed control.
  • Reverse Stitching: Includes a dedicated lever for easy back-tacking and seam reinforcement.
  • Stitch Type: 3-Step / 2-Stitch Zig-Zag (Type 308)
  • Max Sewing Speed: 2,500 Stitches Per Minute (SPM)
  • Max Stitch Width: 25/64" (10 mm)
  • Max Stitch Length: 5 S.P.I. (5 mm)
  • Presser Foot Clearance: 15/64" (6 mm) by Hand / 25/64" (10 mm) by Knee
  • Needle System: 135 x 5
  • Needle Bar Stroke: 1 11/32" (34 mm)
  • Hook Type: Large Horizontal Axis Rotary Hook
  • Lubrication: Manual
  • Intimate Apparel: Attaching lace, elastic bands, and trim to lingerie and foundation garments.
  • Synthetics & Webbing: Ideal for nylon webbing, elasticized heavy-duty materials, and sports gear.
  • Light to Medium Fabrics: Blouses, shirts, and children’s wear requiring flexible seams.
  • Medical & Safety: Orthopedic braces, bandages, and safety equipment where seam elasticity is vital.

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs

What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?

The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.

Where does the machine oil go?

A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.

What kind of oil does this machine require?

You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.

What size table can I get with this machine?

Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.

Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?

No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

Because of the Servo motor speed control, most users find the machine more straightforward to use. Both beginning and seasoned sewers find this feature helpful when stitching projects that don't demand high-speed stitching.
