Consew 199RB-3A-1

is a high-speed, heavy-duty industrial machine engineered for specialized 3-step zig-zag operations. By utilizing a 3-step, 2-stitch pattern (Federal Stitch Type 308), this machine provides superior seam elasticity, preventing thread breakage on materials that stretch or experience high tension. Equipped with a horizontal axis transverse rotary hook and a silent, energy-efficient Servo motor, it is the professional choice for intimate apparel, maritime repairs, and synthetic webbing.

Series Comparison

  • 199RB-1A-1: Standard 1-step (2-point) zig-zag.
  • 199RB-2A-1: 2-step (3-point) zig-zag for intermediate stretch.
  • 199RB-3A-1 (This Model): 3-step (4-point) zig-zag for maximum elasticity and reinforcement.

  • 3-Step Zig-Zag (Type 308): Distributes tension across four points to create a secure, flexible seam that moves with the fabric—ideal for elastics and synthetics.
  • Large Rotary Hook: Features a high-capacity horizontal axis hook that accommodates thicker threads and reduces downtime for bobbin changes.
  • High-Speed Performance: Capable of speeds up to 2,500 SPM, allowing for high-volume production without sacrificing stitch quality.
  • Precision Servo Motor: Includes a 110V digital Servo motor for silent operation, 90% energy savings, and pinpoint speed control for intricate work.
  • Adjustable Stitch Geometry: Features a wide 10mm zig-zag width with a locking regulator to ensure consistency during high-speed runs.
  • Robust Feeding: A reliable drop-feed mechanism ensures smooth material handling for light to medium-heavyweight fabrics.
  • Stitch Type: 3-Step / 2-Stitch Zig-Zag Lockstitch (Type 308)

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs

What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?

The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.

Where does the machine oil go?

A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.

What kind of oil does this machine require?

You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.

What size table can I get with this machine?

Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.

Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?

No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

Because of the Servo motor speed control, most users find the machine more straightforward to use. Both beginning and seasoned sewers find this feature helpful when stitching projects that don't demand high-speed stitching.
