Consew 104-2T

is a professional-grade, hand-operated embroidery machine designed for intricate decorative work, including traditional Chainstitching and Moss (Chenille) stitching. Using a unique universal feed mechanism controlled by a manual crank handle, the operator can "steer" the stitching in any direction—360 degrees—to create complex patterns, monograms, and floral designs. Built for durability and artistic precision, this machine is the industry standard for high-end garment customization and varsity-style embroidery.

  • Varsity & Letterman Jackets: Perfect for creating classic "chenille" patches and decorative emblems.
  • High-End Fashion: Adding textured floral designs, scrolling, and custom embroidery to jackets, denim, and evening wear.
  • Monogramming: Free-hand script and personalized branding on garments and home textiles.
  • Drapery & Home Décor: Creating ornate borders and patterns on pillows, curtains, and linens.
  • Costume Design: Specialized detailing for theater, film, and period-correct apparel.
  • Dual Stitch Capability: Easily switch between classic Chainstitching and Moss (Pile) Stitching to create textured, 3D embroidery effects.
  • 360° Universal Feed: A manual handle under the machine allows the operator to sew in any direction without turning the fabric, providing total creative freedom.
  • Artisanal Precision: Ideal for free-hand embroidery, allowing for intricate floral designs, script monograms, and custom patches.
  • Nipple Feed Mechanism: Ensures consistent stitch quality on various fabric weights while allowing for sharp turns and curves.
  • Adjustable Pile Height: Specifically for the Moss stitch, allowing for customization of the "carpet-like" texture.
  • Heavy-Duty Construction: Built with an industrial metal frame to withstand continuous professional use.
  • Precision Servo Motor: Includes a 110V adjustable speed Servo motor for silent operation and the slow-speed control necessary for detailed embroidery work.
  • Stitch Types: Chainstitch and Moss (Chenille) Stitch
  • Maximum Speed: 800 SPM (Stitches Per Minute)
  • Needle System: 137 x 1 (or 137 x 1TR for Moss)
  • Feed Type: Universal Manual Feed (360-degree direction)
  • Workspace: 10-1/4" (260 mm) underarm clearance
  • Stitch Length: Adjustable up to 5/32" (4 mm)
  • Motor: 110V Electronic DC Servo Motor
  • Lubrication: Manual

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs

What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?

The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.

Where does the machine oil go?

A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.

What kind of oil does this machine require?

You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.

What size table can I get with this machine?

Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.

Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?

No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.
