CONSEW 104-1T

is a professional-grade, manual embroidery and quilting machine designed for high-precision ornamental stitching. Unlike standard automated machines, the 104-1T features a Universal Feed Movement, allowing the operator to steer the fabric in any direction using a manual handle. This makes it the industry standard for creating intricate free-hand designs, monograms, and moss (chenille) stitching on a wide variety of materials.

  • Ornamental Embroidery: Decorative stitching on gowns, shirts, shop coats, and jackets.
  • Quilting: Custom chainstitch designs on quilts, bedspreads, and coverlets.
  • Branding & Emblems: Creating custom biker patches, banners, and embroidered name tags.
  • Industrial Linens: Personalizing towels, tablecloths, and curtains for hotels or laundries.
  • Specialty Work: Moss stitching for varsity-style letters and heavy ornamental textures on blankets.
  • Universal Feed Movement: Hand-operated directional control allows for free-hand stitching in any shape, form, or style without rotating the fabric.
  • Dual Stitch Capability: Equipped with a built-in device to switch between Chainstitch and Drop/Moss Stitch (chenille) without rethreading or removing the workpiece.
  • Adjustable Needle Plate: Features an adjustable plate to accommodate various needle sizes and thread thicknesses, ensuring versatility for different design requirements.
  • High Thread Compatibility: Optimized to handle all types of thread, including cotton, silk, wool, metal, and synthetic fibers.
  • Energy-Efficient Servo Motor: Includes a quiet, adjustable-speed servo motor that provides 70-90% power savings compared to traditional clutch motors.
  • Artistic Precision: Ideally suited for professional embroiderers and artists who require the "old-school" free-motion control used for biker patches, car club jackets, and vintage-style monograms.

  • Speed, Max (S.P.M.): 800
  • Stitch Type: Single Needle, Single Thread - Chainstitch - Type 101

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs

What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?

The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.

Where does the machine oil go?

A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.

What kind of oil does this machine require?

You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.

What size table can I get with this machine?

Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.

Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?

No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.
