The CNBX-7NS

is a specialized heavy-duty industrial machine engineered specifically for "boxing" cushions.1 Unlike standard walking foot machines, this model is configured to sew the top or bottom of a cushion to the side boxing strip (foxing) with unmatched precision. Featuring a powerful feeding mechanism and a high-clearance arm, it handles thick foam-backed fabrics and heavy upholstery materials without shifting, ensuring perfectly aligned corners and professional-grade seams every time.

  • Specialized Boxing Guide: Includes a dedicated guide system to hold cushion panels and side strips in perfect alignment, reducing the need for pinning or marking.
  • Powerful Walking Foot (Triple Feed): The synchronized movement of the needle, presser foot, and feed dog ensures that bulky upholstery layers move together, preventing "stair-stepping" or uneven seams.
  • Large Vertical Axis Hook: Equipped with a double-capacity bobbin system, allowing you to sew longer runs with thick upholstery thread (up to Tex 138) without frequent interruptions.
  • High-Torque Servo Motor: The 550W adjustable speed motor provides the "punching power" needed to pierce through multiple layers of heavy fabric and foam padding.
  • Simplified "New Style" Design: Re-engineered for easier maintenance and smoother operation compared to older boxing machine variants.
  • Reverse Stitching: Large, easy-to-reach lever for reinforcing seams at the start and end of the cushion assembly.

JUKI DDL-8700 FAQs

What kind of needles do you use in the DDL-8700?

The needles with your JUKI are the Organ DBx1, available on our website. This machine uses size 16×257, size 8 through 20 or 16×97. The 8700 can also use standard needles, sizes 9 through 21, universal or fabric-specific needles such as knit.

Where does the machine oil go?

A pan directly underneath the machine supplies oil to the machine with a cotton wick. Lift the machine up and over to access the oil tank while on the table. You must keep the machine’s oil level consistently at the «high» mark, either by adding more oil or draining it and refilling it as needed. If the oil pump can’t get the oil into the machine, it can cause serious problems later.

What kind of oil does this machine require?

You need a specific type, like motor oil in your car, to keep this machine running. The DDL-8700 requires JUKI New Defrix Oil No.1, equivalent to ISO VG7.

What size table can I get with this machine?

Our table has legs and is 22"w x 47"l. It includes a knee and foot pedals and a left-hand drawer for accessories.

Does the DDL 8700 make buttonholes?

No. The 8700 only does straight stitching, with a horizontal bar on the right side for a reverse stitch.

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

THE ADVANTAGES OF A SERVO MOTOR

Because of the Servo motor speed control, most users find the machine more straightforward to use. Both beginning and seasoned sewers find this feature helpful when stitching projects that don't demand high-speed stitching.
